copper wiring under sheet-rocked glass,
i am sizzling, unkindled in
the absence of your smile.
this anger burning me, blending
my will to survive. impeccably
timed you radiate through
the depths of my mind.
ii.
under-nourished, i require sustenance.
fill me to brinking, i feed on
bloodlines. sink my teeth
into your livelihood so i may
grow. i shall return the favor
when i am whole...
iii.
fallen ... mangled ... laced with
intoxicating chemicals exhaled
by culprit lungs. strung out
on bipolar planes of sacrificial
offerings. i offer up my heart
in exchange for
another dose of you.
i fall deeper into
the grips of your drug
iv.
the thought of forever, reality or fiction?
where were you all this time
i searched my heart, my spirit guides
and was told to wait, patiently
pretenders passing by in nightwind
trick my treated soul and
lead me to self-loathing
((it's hard to grow when you are stuck in karmic patterns.
my life on repeat ... again…))
strangers institutionalize my multiple personas.
i need these others for functional tranquility
((am i sane?))

i dance under bridges, paralyzed by gradients
grading my master of will. i am free
((but am i happy...))
vi.
i come down again to discover any Earthly creatures
who have risen to this level
searching, i soar through stages changing, waiting to see
shape-shifted, you brush by me, mercilessly,
catching my wind, throwing me from my course of flight.
((where did you come from, anyway))
side-swept, i turn to you, i turn in two ... l.i.f.e.
with past behind, i turn poems to the sky
catch a glimpse of forever in your eyes
melted, mended, my wind returned.
